Keaton has a passion for health, physical activity and wellness and has been working with patients in various settings for the past 10 years. He has been actively involved in sports for most of his life, playing competitive hockey and football in his youth.
Originally from Sudbury Ontario, Keaton relocated to Ottawa in 2018 and has been working in the community over the past 5 years as a Registered Massage Therapist and Kinesiologist. He has been working in the Rockcliffe, New Edinburgh area since 2019.
Keaton enjoys fitness, hockey, travel, snowboarding, running, biking, golf and several dog sports with his dogs Sheldon, Alvin, and Arthur such as canicross, bikejoring, treiball and skijoring.
His journey in the field of health and wellness began in high school, fascinated by improving his own level of fitness and health, he took to exercising and learning about human performance and exercise science. That curiosity paired with his athletic background led him to pursue education in the field as he enrolled into the Physical Fitness Management Program at Cambrian College and achieved an Advanced Diploma in Physical Fitness Management. This program helped him understand more about anatomy, exercise physiology, sports psychology and how to navigate the fitness industry.
Keaton later attended Laurentian University and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education and received Honours Cum Laude. It was after this degree he became a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
In 2019, Keaton obtained his Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy and has passed the requirements to become a Registered Massage Therapist.
Throughout his studies and his career up to this point, Keaton Basso has completed many professional development courses and attended conferences to grow in the field of health and wellness. He has achieved certifications in Fascial Stretch Therapy (Frederick Stretch Therapy Level 3 Specialist), Cupping, Concussion Prevention Management and Detection as well as various training and assessment courses.
Keaton focuses on a client centred approach that aims to treat the root cause of the symptoms as well as educating patients about their condition/treatment plan for optimal, long-term benefits. Keaton works with the general public, helping those who are otherwise healthy, those with health conditions and athletes of all ages/background/level. Keaton has experience working with many athletes including players in the NHL, OHL, CFL, Soccer Canada, Skate Canada and USports.
